This Swiss Cheese leaf is another eye-catching design of the Monstera Adansonii species. Thick acrylic paint in several tropical colors squeeze out of cake decorating tips to get paint in the precise areas of this wonderful design, then brushed over for a smooth look.
Lighter greens highlight one side while electric blue cools the shadow side with some rich blue-greens to cool off and pearl shimmering on the texture peaks.
Being painted on a non-stick surface enables the acrylic paint to be peeled off to position well on to the gallery painted canvas. The background and sides are painted white for quality and canvas protection, then all are varnished. This positioning allows an inventive way to curl or bend the flexible paint when dry, into sculpted shapes like at the bottom tip of the leaf here.
